Lindsay Barry UX Designer
Designer Leader Problem-Solver
Hi there! I'm Lindsay, a UX Designer based in the city of Chicago. I'm passionate about creating designs that empower users, improving their everyday experiences, and simplifying life a little for everyone. As a former business owner and educator, I am interested in ways people learn and behave and I've honed the art of appealing to and engaging people from all walks of life. I enjoy helping people learn in ways that are enjoyable and easy, taking complex information and breaking it down for others to easily understand.
My curiosity drives me to consistently unearth overlooked insights and core problems through continuous questioning. Exploring the intersection of technological design and human behavior, I am driven to create experiences that seamlessly adapt to human tendencies. Let's collaborate and unravel solutions together!
My Approach
I had the privilege of working with many experienced and talented UX Designers as mentors throughout my UX career. They have all instilled the importance of doing thorough and intentional research so that every aspect of my designs are deeply rooted in research methodologies. I lean into those insights throughout my whole design process and revist more research if and when needed.
Research is Key
My innate curiosity drives me to continuously ask "why" and dig deeper to uncover the underlying motivations behind any design challenge. This approach fuels my passion for user experience design, pushing me to understand the needs, behaviors, and aspirations of end-users and create intuitive designs that effectively address their needs
Be Curious
I value fostering an open-minded environment in my UX design approach. I believe the best solutions come from diverse teams with varied life experiences and design expertise. This diversity enhances the final product by allowing me to embrace multiple perspectives and contexts, enriching my understanding and approach to user-centric designs.
Be Open-Minded
Non-Shop Talk
When I am not fully immersed in my projects, you will find me outside either tinkering in my garden, going on bike rides and exploring forests, swimming in the lake, or soaking up the sun with a book. I am always eager to learn a new skill, take a class, or go on an adventure. You never know what you like or what you are good at until you try it!
